“Attention is the beginning of devotion”

-Mary Oliver

A black and white photo strip with three images of people taking self-portraits with cameras, arranged vertically on a patterned surface.

Photos are windows, invaluable frames. They decorate the walls of our homes and serve as the forget-me-nots that tell our story & guide us back home to our hearts.

I love film photo & video because its very nature is one of texture, one of the earth. The film passes through many hands, many times—the hands that create, capture, develop, print, and the hands of the generations to hold them.

Film is a practice of presence—of care-full observance. What we bring attention to, is what we give life to. And our attention is a powerful creative force.

The boundary of limited exposures is an anchor into my heart & what sparks it. Curated imagery. I often find my hands focusing the frame before I have time to think anything of it. Moving on impulse, like dancing to music, inspired and taken by the moment. I wish my photos serve as cherished, emotion-filled, mementos for you through time.

Sincerely,
